About us

The Procurement Technical Assistance Program was established by Congress in 1985 to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in government contracts.


Under the program, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) help large and small businesses pursue and perform under contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, state and local governments, and government prime contractors.


Based in Rochester, NY, the Monroe County Finger Lakes Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MCFL PTAC) is the primary program for government contracting and marketing assistance, providing free and confidential services to businesses established in the nine county Finger Lakes Region: Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates, also providing services to Cayuga, and Onondaga counties.


As a program hosted by the Monroe County Economic Development Division, the PTAC is part of the County’s strong commitment to growing small businesses and creating jobs. MCFL PTAC is administered by and operates under a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
